Inspired by love, we are proud to bring you our latest collection, ‘El Amor / The Love’.
Love is not linear, instead, it is oftentimes very complex. It is a roller coaster of emotions that can feel overwhelming or terrifying and yet, intoxicating. We convey the multitudes of feelings of love in 3 different stages.
Te Amo / I love you
When you first fall in love, love is new and exciting. It is exhilarating — your heart flutters, your pulse races and your whole world is turned upside down with the rush of emotions.
The shoes that reflect the first stage of love are filled with elaborate details that are hand crafted from start to finish. Remi’s elegant crescent of pearls are balanced with playful side-swept bows while Eloise’s delicate flower beadwork is topped with an oversized tullecore bow. If you’re looking for glamor, Kennedy is your answer with the dazzling crystals on comfortable and breathable mesh. Just like the exuberant feelings of love, these shoes will leave you breathless and wanting more.
Love often begins with an innocent kiss and develops into full blown passion. This unique gown from Tanya Rayhelgauz somehow follows that journey. The high demure neckline portrays innocence and yet the hugging sheer corset represents sensuality and passion.
Being romantics at heart, we love the name of this Kim Kansas Couture gown ‘Romeo’. With a silhouette that hugs the body like a warm embrace, romantic puffed sleeves and cinched, corseted waist, this gown will surely make you feel like Juliette!
Falling in love is a journey filled with many layers and emotions. This opulent ball gown by OUMA characterizes the layers of falling in love with gorgeous tulle frills and an extravagant trail cascading like emotions.
Sure to set hearts a fluttering, is the ‘William’ gown perhaps named after William Shakespeare, the author of Romeo & Julliette? This distinctive gown is also designed by Kim Kansas Couture, with a structured embroidered bustier, off-the-shoulder sheer sleeves and the most gorgeous pleated train. We think this divine dress would be fit for any balcony.
Te Adoro / I Adore You
After love, comes adoration. Adoration is that feeling of love that overwhelms you completely. You start to peel layers as you explore the core of your lover. This stage is filled with surprises and adventure, and the more you explore, the more you come to feel adoration.
The shoes in this stage embrace that feeling of adoration with fun and flirty bows and ruffles on our darling Mirabelle, Brooklyn, Faye, and Blaire. They are topped with pearls to signify everlasting and endless love.
Now, let's talk about this slightly outrageous gown from Viktor and Rolf named ‘The mountain flower baby doll’. A bit like the perfect relationship, it’s fun, flirty and even sweet. The most adorable partners don't forget about the little details and neither does this delightful outfit with a charming hat and matching gloves.
Designed in glorious Greece, this flattering off-the-shoulder gown from Made Bride features handcrafted detailing with feathers and 3D flowers along with tulle sleeves. A custom feather headband adds another dimension to this beautiful dress designed to make your heart flutter.
Te Deseo / I Want You
First comes love, next comes adoration and third comes desire. It is uncontrollable and explosive. That passion is insatiable and undeniable, leaving you longing and burning for more. This stage explores that yearning and lust through our flirtatious shoes.
Glittering crystal straps in Sidney and Weslyn are sexy and so iconic, while Quinn’s feathers will cement and give you fashionista status. Show stopping and dazzling, these shoes will make you the center of attention in any crowd.
Sometimes you find someone you just can't resist and we just couldn't resist this sequined, feather dress by OUMA. It's short, it's fun, but delve a little deeper and you will find layers of tulle & organza as well as a subtle pink lining.
Let your dress do the talking in this Tanya Rayhelgauz jaw-dropping ensemble. Flirtatious and sexy with a voluminous, sheer tulle blouse teamed with a mini skirt, featuring fabulous handmade floral pockets, adorned with pearls and shimmering crystals. Prepare to party the night away!
Do you ever turn back for one more glance at your lover? This sequin and crystal short dress by Dylan Parienty, will make you stop and stare. The daring back is certainly worth one more glance. We added an oversized silk bow to draw a little more attention to this show-stopping dress.
The Venue
Hispanic culture screams passion, emotion and excitement. So, when we decided to create our new collection based on the stages of love, there seemed to be an obvious location to capture our amazing photos and films - the magical Mayan city of Merida in Mexico. Why Merida? That's simple. Merida is a vibrant, colorful city with tiny winding streets and antiquated architecture, all providing the perfect backdrop for our shoot. We have to admit the glorious sunshine and delicious Mexican cuisine added to our desire to choose Merida as our filming location.
Day one of our shoot led us to one of the oldest and most charming haciendas in the Yucatan region, Tekik De Regil. Italian architecture created light and shadow, highlighting our delicate shoes in the best way. The age-old walls delicately hand painted with murals of local flowers and fauna, offered us beautiful art to reflect the craftsmanship of our latest handmade collection.
As the hot sun rose on day two of our shoot, we headed to downtown Merida and hit the narrow streets. Old stairways and alleys with walls filled with vibrant colors provided rustic imperfections and dimensions that were perfect to showcase the intricate details of our newest heels.
As the sun began to set, the lively local bars enticed us in (no, we were not tempted by the Tequila or Margarita!) and local characters amplified and intensified the atmosphere. It is clear that this stunning city is the perfect runway for our ‘El Amor / The Love’ collection lookbook.
